Position: Accountant


Location: Abuja

  • The Accountant is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager with safeguarding the assets (financial and physical) of MSH and ultimately the US Government or other donors against fraud, loss or misuse. The Accountant is responsible for ensuring that any money expended in the field is done in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, MSH policy and any cost principles imposed by the donor agency. The Accountant is aware of, and adheres to MSH’s procurement integrity standards in all activities.



Key Qualifications

  • University Degree in Accounting or equivalent certification from a Business Technical School
  • Experience as an Accountant or understanding of key aspects of accounting, experience with US government projects will be helpful.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially spreadsheet or comparable software.
  • Ability to use basic accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks)

Position: Strategic Communication Analyst


Location: Abuja

  • The Strategic Communication Analyst will be responsible for supporting the smooth opera­tion of MSH communication drive to maximize visibility of the contribution MSH Nigeria projects is making to the people of Nigeria with support from USAID. She/he will work with MSH Director for Communications, Project Directors, Technical Advisors, Communication Volunteers and where necessary with partner organizations to support visibility of project results.


Specific Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Director for Communications, support the implementa­tion of the MSH Nigeria Communication Strategy, assisting to bring out “cause-result rela­tionships” in the work we do.


The successful candidate will:

1.       Generate creative concepts for success stories/news nuggets, briefs and other information items. Draft and edit written communication materials to print-ready status.

2.       Generate photographs/video-recordings about MSH activities.

3.       Support management of ProACT Communication Team, collating materials generated by technical teams and field offices and mentoring Communication interns.




  • Masters Degree in the Liberal Arts, Social or other Sciences.
  • Four years post-qualification work experience (with Masters) or six years post-qualification communication-relevant expe­rience may be seen as substitute for Masters in exceptional cases of high aptitude for wilting.
  • Exemplary verbal/written English language and drafting skills – and evidence of interest in reading widely and writing, essential.
  • Proven track record in communication/creative writing with capacity for strategic-thinking
  • At least one-year supervisory-level work in development programming or communication. Works independently and takes initiative.

Position: Finance & Admin Officer (FAO)


Location: Kebbi & Gombe



The Finance and Admin Officer will oversee the operations and finances of the state office and will:

1.       Ensure the proper use, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, such as genera­tors, vehicles, communication, computer units and peripherals, video and audio equipment, other office equipment, and air conditioners.

2.       Provide logistics support and coordination to all field activities and staff travel.

3.       Ensure implementation of regulations and procedures for local purchase, procurement and logistic management. .

4.       Maintain rigorous operations in the field office, communicating regularly with the Home office to assure smooth operations.

5.       Assist technical staff to develop and manage monthly and quarterly activity budgets.

6.       Supervise administrative and finance staff



Key Qualifications:

1.       University Degree in Business Management or accounting or equivalent certification from a Business Technical School.

2.       Minimum 3 years management experience with USA1D funded project.

3.       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel spreadsheets.

4.       Ability to use accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks).
